Michael Coleman Interview
This was a very nice interview, I was very happy to share some of my important views and issues with the Music and Entertainment Industry!!
What is music to you? What does it give you?
Music to me is the ultimate of spiritual satisfaction. Wether Recording or Performing, one is just as rewarding as the other.
What is your music dream?
To perform in Madison Square Garden with my dream musical line up. To tour the world, become fortunate to have a number 1 song on the charts, and to have that song cross several musical genres, and walk across the stage to receive the 1st of many major awards as well as a Grammy award.
If you could change the world - what would you start with?
Music, I feel that music is the one emotion that touches every individual across the world. A great song could make anyone from any nationality of life smile or show an emotion.
Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?
Choice of Colors-The Impressions
Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?
Kool & The Gang, Earth, Wind & Fire, Curtis Mayfield, Prince, Smokey Robinson.
What inspires you to make music?
The emotional feeling it gives me. To see the success of an idea come together and work beyond your expectations.
What is the message you want to send with your music?
All nationalities need to come together and feel the music.
How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?
Can't put an emotion on it. There are No words for that feeling!!
How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?
Musicians today have become Lazy!! No one practices anymore. it's all about Tracks, pushing buttons and allowing yourself to feel that you don't have to work at becoming successful anymore. What I would change, is I would make musicians earn the right to have the success they want to achieve. Allow the record companies to hold musicians accountable for rewards achieved in the music and entertainment industry.
What frustrates you most as a musician?
No one wants to rehearse anymore, as I said earlier No one wants to earn the right to achieve the success in this industry anymore.
Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?
Yes I do, but it does frustrate me when many of the bands all use tracks instead of performing Live anymore.
What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?
Do the work, put in the work it takes to get your music heard to a wider audience. Hire the right people to assist you in taking your music to that next level. seek out that Entertainment Attorney, Manager, and or Producer to assist you on achieving your goals.
Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.
Musicole, Michael Coleman. But It's hard to say. Many artist today are really great at what they do, but don't have the drive to want to succeed in the music industry.
